DEDICATED SKILL WORK
Skills
Choose a specialty and spend the session working on it. Six focused training options, with practice, feedback and application in play.
Pick the skill. Put in the work.
Skills sessions focus on one area of the player’s game at a time. Work through the technique, add movement and pressure, then use the skill in coached play. Each specialty can be requested as its own 60-minute session.
What we work on
- Ball handling: control, changes of pace and direction, and keeping the ball safe
- Shooting: balanced mechanics, repeatable form and shooting off the catch
- Creating space: reading a defender, making them react and shooting off the dribble
- Finishing: protecting the ball, lay-ups and floaters suited to the player
- Ball screens: setting up the defender, staying tight and reading the floor
- Coming off screens: getting open through curls, pops and fades
Who it suits
U12–U18 players who want dedicated work on a particular part of their game. Progressions and defensive pressure are adjusted to age, skill and readiness.
WHAT A TRAINING SESSION LOOKS LIKE
60 minutes. A clear focus.
01
Warm up
Movement and ball work to prepare for the session.
02
Learn & practise
A skill taught in small steps, with feedback and pressure added when ready.
03
Apply it
Coached play or a game that rewards the skill just practised.
04
Take it home
A short review and one focused home task, usually 5–10 minutes.
Training groups are matched by age and ability. School holiday camps have their own two-day format.
Fundamentals. Skills. Execute.
