GAME LAB · TEAM PLAY & DECISIONS
Execute · Game Lab
Game Lab is where players put the work into a team setting. Pass, cut, find space and read the defence.
Understand the next play.
Execute brings individual skills into team basketball. We start with pass-and-cut motion, spacing and simple reads. Once those are understood, players can work on simplified triangle spacing and split cuts.
What we work on
- Pass and cut: move after the pass and cut hard to the rim
- Spacing: keep room to play and fill the empty position
- Reads: use a V-cut to get open or back cut against denial
- Motion offence: pass, cut, replace and screen away when ready
- Triangle principles: ball-side spacing, post entries and split cuts
- More advanced groups: screening away and the weak-side two-player game
Who it suits
Players ready to use their skills with teammates and live defenders. Reads and pressure are adjusted to the group, with simple motion introduced before the triangle concepts.
WHAT A TRAINING SESSION LOOKS LIKE
60 minutes. A clear focus.
01
Warm up
Movement and ball work to prepare for the session.
02
Learn & practise
A skill taught in small steps, with feedback and pressure added when ready.
03
Apply it
Coached play or a game that rewards the skill just practised.
04
Take it home
A short review and one focused home task, usually 5–10 minutes.
Training groups are matched by age and ability. School holiday camps have their own two-day format.
Fundamentals. Skills. Execute.
